This guide is a work in progress

I will be updating the beginner’s guide as I keep discovering new things playing the Korean version of the game.

This guide aims to cover useful tips (in no particular order) for new players that might be overwhelmed by the amount of systems MAke Drama has.

Elemental system

make drama: mad elemental system

Like most gacha games, MAD also has an elemental advantage system which you should ALWAYS take advantage of. 30% extra damage while attacking the weaker element is a lot.

Funny enough, there is no dark / light system in this game, at least at the time of writing this guide.

The advantage goes one-way only, so you can have one strong tank like Jenny Jenny Jenny and just change your damage dealers based on the enemies you are facing.

Beginner events

make drama: mad beginner events

The golden rule of gacha games: follow the red dots.

The game gives an incredible amount of resources for new accounts divided between a few events, so make sure you are following them.

After you complete the main beginner’s event, you also get a character selector, which includes the following units:

You already get Elishia Elishia Elishia for free, so I would recommend instead filling your roster, since one copy of any unit is enough for casual players.

My personal recommendations here are Chise Chise Chise (great DPS), Ines Ines Ines (one of the strongest healers) or Charlotte Charlotte Charlotte (hybrid unit / utility).

Valentina Valentina Valentina and Casey Casey Casey follow after those 3 if you arleady have them, and I would not ticket the rest unless it’s for collection.

Lower rarity units

make drama: mad dps check

1 and 2-star characters are strong simply because the 30% elemental advantage.

Don’t force yourself to use only 3-star units early on because you will clear less content than investing in a few extra DPS units.

You can use the same tank and supports always for the first few chapters, just diversify on DPS units.

Passive for low rarity units

Passive skills unlock at 3-stars for all units. Make sure to level up your low rarity characters to unlock them, since it will make them stronger (and most tier list ratings assume they are unlocked).

As you can see in the picture above, my Mane Mane Mane is beating even Casey Casey Casey in damage because that stage was weak to Chastity characters.

Team building

The game gets hard really quickly because level difference between enemies and your own units.

I would recommend 1 tank, 2 DPS, 1 healer and one flex spot, which will change based on the stage.

Sometimes I like bringing a support like Charlotte Charlotte Charlotte , sometimes an extra DPS, maybe a secondary healer if the enemy is hitting like a truck.

Example team composition early on:

Lumina Lumina Lumina and Suji Suji Suji are both free and will keep your team healthy.

Elishia Elishia Elishia is another free unit that has a huge AoE burst skill and pretty good damage output.

Jenny Jenny Jenny is a really strong tank and honestly worth using even to push content regardless of element.

Your last damage dealer will cycle depending on enemies, but I like Mane Mane Mane quite a bit. For a 2-star unit her damage output is crazy.

Team presets

make drama: mad team presets

Since this game has a strong elemental system, you will be switching units depending on the enemy composition quite often, so make sure you setup your team presets.

You can have 4 teams per page, up to 5 pages so far, which is more than enough to setup teams for all gamemodes available on launch of the game.

Leftover EXP

make drama: mad leftover experience

This game does NOT give you back smaller EXP tickets back if you decide to use higher rarity ones for low amounts needed to level up.

When you use too many EXP tickets, you will accumulate leftover EXP, which will make it easier to level up future levels.

This means next time you level up, before you consume tickets, the game will use the accumulated EXP first instead, in the case of this picture, the “809”.
