Intro

Although Trickcal is kind of a meme and casual game, there are some systems that if not properly used will brick your account long term considering how long it takes to level up and acquire some of those resources.

We will go into each topic more in depth below, but here’s a TLDR of the Pastel system:

Each character board has a different layout
There are 3 boards per character, which you can access by opening a “Gateway” when you finish the current one
You don’t need to fully unlock every node to move to the next board, and you can come back at any time to finish previous nodes
There are some nodes that absolutely YOU SHOULD ALWAYS pick and some that you can completely ignore, more on that below
There is a game mode to farm Pastels, but you can obtain them in events and shops too

Normal nodes apply only to that character, but glowing nodes apply to all characters, making them really important and the focus for most players

Where do I farm Pastels?

You can use your Star Candy Star Candy Description Basic stamina used for resource stages. to farm different resources every day, including Pastels.

Don’t farm lower stages

As a new player, you should prioritize unlocking higher levels to start farming rather than wasting stamina on lower stages.

Ultra Pastel Ultra Pastel Description Crayons used to unlock character board nodes, making your Apostles stronger. only appear at level 9 or more on the resource stages, so DO NOT farm previous levels since it’s meaningless.

ps: On the global server they might appear on earlier stages.

Dark gray rainbow nodes: Same as before, they apply to everyone and cost gold Ultra Pastel Ultra Pastel Description Crayons used to unlock character board nodes, making your Apostles stronger. . They provide the best buffs in the board and are the priority for most characters

When to open Gateways

You do not need to unlock all nodes on a board to move to the next one. You only need to make your way to the gateway and pay the price to unlock the second (or third) boards.

It’s important to note that the price of unlocking nodes will increase on each consecutive board. It applies to all nodes, but here’s the example with rainbow nodes:

When should I open gateways?

A good strategy is to focus on unlocking the rainbow nodes on ALL YOUR CHARACTERS before you move and start unlocking gateways for your main units.

Stats to avoid

Before we talk about recommended stats, it’s essential to know that you can usually ignore: Physical Defense and Magic Defense.

These stats are still decent long-term

When you are pushing hard and hell difficulty campaigns, these stats will still help fill the gap in combat power.

They still have less priority than everything else, but at some point you will have to start taking them regardless.

Unless there’s a node with those stats leading to a rainbow node, you can usually skip them.

Stat priority

Some KR forums put higher priority on crit, while others say to focus on Attack and HP first.

All in all, you can focus on offensive stats + HP while ignoring the defensive stats early on since they have way lower value for most accounts.

Monsters that ignore crit resistance

There are some monsters that ignore crit hit resistance, so it’s worth less than critical damage resistance.

These monsters only appear in KR in later chapters, so you should be fine at the beginning.

KR forums recommend taking a ratio of 2:1 when it comes to attack and HP nodes
After that you can move into critical hit and then critical damage
When it comes to crit resistances, please only take crit damage resistance, not crit rate
