Sword x Staff has a pretty nice food system that allows you to heal yourself, gain stats for battles and most important, gain permanent stat increase with specific food types.

Healing

Basic food you will have to consistently craft to heal yourself after battles. Each new region offers a new type that is stronger than the previous one.

All of these foods are cheap (gold and farmable plants) to craft, so don’t worry about being limited on playing the game because you have no potions to heal yourself.

If you don’t know where to find specific ingredients, you can click on them on the crafting screen to directly teleport to the map and start gathering.

Temporary buffs

Simple foods that provide buffs for X number of battles. They are usually for specific regions OR types of fights, so always read before you consume them.

There is no expiry date on when you have to use food either, so don’t rush to consume everything as you get it.

Where can I get these foods?

• You can craft some as you progress through the game
• You can unlock recipes in the Kingdom Shop

Permanent buffs

Now we get to the important system, permanent stat increase with food.

Yes, this is pay to win. Yes, even F2P will be able to get a good amount of stats long term just by playing / farming, like most idle games, this is a marathon, not a sprint.

The amount of stats you get is based on how many of the same food you have already consumed. This means there are diminishing returns the more you eat.

Where can I get these foods?

• Buy them in the auction house with Luminium Luminium Description Use them to exchange for Dawnium or buy items.
• In the arena shop
• Buy recipes in the auction house with Luminium Luminium Description Use them to exchange for Dawnium or buy items.
• Guild Clash rewards
• If you are lucky, daily commisions and Mysterious Merchant can also have recipes
