Understanding OL gear
What is Overloaded Gear?
Tier 9 manufacturer gear can be upgraded once they reach level 5 to “Tier 10”, also called Overloaded Gear.
This gear will not only be stronger, but also have up to 3 bonus sub-stats that your Nikkes can take advantage of.
You can only upgrade Tier 9 manufacturer equipment if the NIKKE has the same manufacturer as the piece of gear.
You CANNOT unequip these items, so make sure you overload first your strongest DPS and main team.
What sub-stats can you get?
When you upgrade from T9 to Overload, the first sub-stat is guaranteed, the second one has a 50% chance and the third one has a 30% chance.
Welcome to the real endgame, farming

to reroll your gear and get 3 sub-stats useful for most of your units.
Rerolling sub-stats
After you upgrade to Overload gear, you have two options to reroll the sub-stats, Change Effects and Reset Attributes.
Change Effects resets the attributes themselves and rolls for new ones if you got something bad like Charge Damage on a NIKKE with an SMG, where it’s useless.
You can also use this option to try to get more lines if you only got 1 or 2, long term you want all your Nikkes with 3 sub-stats that are useful for them.
Reset Attributes lets you reroll the percentage values on your sub-stats, and this is something you should really not focus until much later in the game.
Using both options will cost you

that you can farm in Special Interception and Anomaly Interception.
Priority for sub-stats in Overloaded Gear
Every character benefits from different sub-stats, so if you are in doubt, feel free to join our character pages to see what are the best stats for each unit.
That said, we can explain each sub-stat a bit to understand why they might be good or bad:
Elemental DMG: Good for every unit in the game. You always want to do more damage so this is a universally good stat, even more so with the game focusing on elemental content.
Hit Rate: Makes it easier to hit where you are aiming. Good for SMG, shotguns and assault rifles, useless for everyone else.
Max Ammo: Usually good for all units, since shooting more means more damage and less time reloading. There are exceptions, so always check the skills to make sure you don’t have to avoid this stat.
ATK: Just like Elemental DMG, great for every single unit in the game.
Charge DMG: Only good on sniper rifles and rocket launchers. Less popular than the global stats and running crit instead, but still useful depending on the unit.
Charge Speed: Only good for sniper rifles and rocket launchers. Good unless the character has a fixed charge speed time, then it’s useless.
Crit Rate: After 3.5 years crit is getting more popular as secondary stats to increase damage output on damage dealers, a nice option but can be ignored for support units.
Crit DMG: Same thing as crit rate. Getting more and more popular as time goes by for damage dealers as filler lines.
DEF: Unless you are an omega tryhard in pvp, ignore this stat. Shoutout to bunker for rerolling all his units with DEF, truly dedicated to his craft lmao.
How to roll for Overloaded equipment lines properly
- The top line has a 100% chance of appearing on both upgrade to overload and every subsequent reroll.
- The middle line has a 50% chance of appearing on both upgrade to overload and every subsequent reroll.
- The bottom line has a 30% chance of appearing on both upgrade to overload and every subsequent reroll.
Once a line appears on the gear, the other lines are locked out of getting that line (you can’t get two ATK lines). So as you lock or keep lines, the “easier” it is to find the other lines you will need.
The best and most efficient way of obtaining the right lines goes as follows:
- Reroll for best in slot stat on the third line
- Lock the third line if it is one of the best in slot lines for the specific character
- Reroll for the second line stat and lock, or reroll for both lines if you don’t want to lock
- Over a long period of time, locking ends up potentially saving more Custom modules, but the luck varies from player to player
Some units also don’t even need a bis third line to be viable or even competitive, so do make sure to look up what your character needs.
The opposite is also possible where there are lines that units MUST have to function fully (units like
Alice
Alice
, who has lines they need. Or units like
Anis: Sparkling Summer
Anis: Sparkling Summer
who has lines they need to avoid).
About locking gear
There are multiple ways you can lock gear nowadays, so adding this extra section to the guide to give more context on that:

(rocks)
- You can use rocks to lock lines. Each time you lock one line, the price to reroll your stats will increase.
- Using rocks makes the lock permanent until you click on it to remove it manually
Custom Lock
Custom Lock
Description
Lock an equipment modification effect only once. The lock is released when you change the effect or reset the value, even if the value remains unchanged.
- New item added to Anomaly Interception that allows you to lock lines
- Just like using rocks, the price of rerolling will increase for each line you decide to lock
- UNLIKE ROCKS, these locks are a one-time usage. The moment you reroll stats, they are gone and you will have to apply them again
If you are farming Anomaly Interception is usually better to lock using this new system rather than wasting
