Dragon Traveler is a game with A LOT of progression systems and this guide aims to compile information on some of them to help new players understand the game better.

Rerolling

As a TLDR, you should not reroll in this game.

I know a lot of websites will be making reroll guides, so I’m making this in advance to warn people: it’s useless.

You need 18 copies of the same character (not including fodder) to max them out
EX units (light / dark in other gachas) are not unlocked until way later, so you can’t even target them
EX units have their own currency, which is p2w for the most part
SSR units can be added to the wishlist later, so no reason to reroll for specific ones
The only SSR that would be worth rerolling for, Scheherazade Scheherazade Tier 1PriestArcane WisdomSanctum Glory , is locked behind the gacha until you do a few hundred pulls (xd)

In short, please just play without rerolling and enjoy the game, they do a decent job at giving pulls consistently to not worry about rerolling.

Alright, since I know I can’t stop all of you from getting your favorite waifu, let’s talk about the best way of rerolling on PC.

Emulators are the best way of handling rerolling in gacha games, and we recommend using Bluestacks which you can download here with our affiliate link.

Reroll faster!

Make sure to run multiple instances at once with your emulator, so the process is even faster.

Create a new instance on your emulator: “Dragon Traveler Master Instance”
Download the game via Play Store or get an APK via QooApp
Install Dragon Traveler and download the game files in-game. DO NOT login afterward, just close the instance
Clone the master instance as many times as you wish (this depends on your PC specs)
Open the cloned instances and start rerolling
Enable synchronization so you can control multiple instances at the same time
If you are unlucky, delete instances and clone from “Dragon Traveler Master Instance” again to keep rerolling

Dragon Traveler is not exactly open or clear with in-game menus on how many copies you need to max out a character, so here’s a simple table you can use to learn about dupes.

Resonance system

Later in the game you will unlock a system that allows you to “synchronize” characters to your highest dupes.

You still need the dupes in your inventory, this system only allows you to skip the fodder needed.

Dragon Traveler has A LOT of banners, we’ll try to quickly cover all of them without too much fluff, so it’s easier to understand for new players.

In the TW server there are a few more banners but I will only include them as they are released for global.

The rate-up banner of this game. Usually there are multiple characters you can pull for (each one has their own banner):

100% chance to get the rate-up unit. You cannot get any other SSR
2.2% base rate for the rate-up unit
Guaranteed to pity a copy every 5 multis
Pity carries between banners of the same type

EX banners. The light and dark units of this game. Really expensive banners so be careful with this currency:

These banners can’t drop the unit directly, you pull for shards
You can select what EX unit you want to target at any point
Each pull gives 1 to 5 shards (or other resources, not guaranteed to drop shards)
“Hard pity” is 300 pulls, since there are milestones that guarantee shards

You can unlock Wyrmspells (passives you can equip on your dragon) on this banner.

This banner is a bit weird with rates, since it’s based on “phases” instead.

You are only guaranteed an SSR invocation after 600 pulls or if you reach the Arcane Genesis phase (pure RNG).

You can unlock Howlkin (think of them as pets that provide passive stats) on this banner.

Refining 1 Soul Elixir Soul Elixir Description Can be used for Howlkin refinement. grants 10 Refinement Energy. Refining 1 Mercury Potion Mercury Potion Description Can be used for Howlkin refinement. grants 1 Refinement Energy. When Refinement Energy reaches 1,000, the next Soul Elixir Soul Elixir Description Can be used for Howlkin refinement. is guaranteed to produce an SSR or higher Howlkin, consuming 1,000 Refinement Energy.

Team building 101

To be honest, team building in this game is really simple: As long as everyone is on the same faction to take advantage of your Dragon, you are good.

You can run characters off faction if they are supports or you are a new player with a limited roster.

Inflict [Ignite], [Shock], or [Chill] to trigger [Elemental Reactions] against enemies, dealing damage while weakening their combat abilities.

Ignite + Shock = Detonation: Upon triggering, instantly deals magic damage equal to 30% of the target’s Max HP. Damage cannot exceed 900% of Attack.

Chill + Ignite = Evaporation: Reduces the target’s Hit by 1,500. Lasts 8 seconds. Upon triggering, instantly deals magic damage equal to 10% of the target’s Max HP. Damage cannot exceed 300% of Attack.

Shock + Chill = Flash Freeze: Reduces the target’s Attack Speed by 150%. Lasts 8 seconds. Upon triggering, instantly deals magic damage equal to 10% of the target’s Max HP. Damage cannot exceed 300% of Attack.

Accumulate Rage when losing HP. Upon reaching full Rage, enter the [Wild] state, where combat abilities are greatly enhanced.

By gaining [Morale] and [Fervor], enter the [Grace] state to apply a Self Buff and enhance combat abilities.

Gain [Deathrattle] when an ally falls. The more [Deathrattle] stacks you have, the stronger your combat abilities become.

Some of your skills will trigger the [Punishment] effect on enemies whose Overdrive Energy Consumption is 4 or higher, applying a Buff to enhance current skill’s effect.

All this information is presented pretty well in-game if you click on Recommended Formation on your Luminaries screen.

Wishlist

Wishlist recommendations are useless

This is based solely on what factions you are building. The only exception is Scheherazade Scheherazade Tier 1PriestArcane WisdomSanctum Glory since she is a universal support unit.

Focus on one faction early game, and after you reach chapter 18+ you can start to think what the second (and eventually third) team you want to build is.

When there are enough characters in the standard banner that we can be picky about it, I’ll update with recommendations for each faction here.

Shop recommendations

Before you spend resources

A lot of the recommendations here use Gold Gold Gold Description The most common form of basic currency in Phantasia Mountain. Used to level up characters and in multiple shops. or Diamond Diamond Diamond Description Premium currency used for gacha, shops, refreshes and more. , so it’s up to you how many premium resources you want to use on these shops.

Use this as a reference and buy as needed.

Exploration Guide Exploration Guide Description Using this item in Champion Expedition grants 3 Veteran Emblems. is worth buying early on until you have enough SSR gear for your characters.

Primal Amber Primal Amber Description Amber crystal containing ancient Luminary memories. Unlocks advanced classes. it’s worth on most shops that the item is available on because the limited supply.

Mythical Summoning Ticket Mythical Summoning Ticket Description Tickets used for the EX Summon gacha (special character banners). is a must buy on any shop you can find since F2P do not have any other access to this currency.

Dragon Traveler divine-realm shop

Golden Horn Golden Horn Description Tickets used for the World Serpent gacha (artifact banner). to get more artifacts.

Aurora Dust Aurora Dust Description A common material used for Treasure Advancement. if you have leftover currency it’s worth grabbing daily (DEPENDING ON YOUR ACCOUNT and if you need to advance more or less treasures).

When it comes to the low rarity artifacts, we recommend getting the first copy if you can afford it to complete your collection and get extra stats.

Higher priority for “universal” artifacts that work on any character rather than faction specific ones.

Dragon Traveler guild shop

Dragonblood Dragonblood Description The rare blood of ancient dragons. Can be used in Wyrm Star Upgrade. takes priority over anything else in this shop to level up your dragons.

When it comes to dragon fragments, only buy for your main and secondary team (spenders can probably afford more than that).

Aurora Crystal Aurora Crystal Description Constains immense energy from the origin of life. Advanced material for Artifact advancement. it’s good to advance your artifacts but it’s situational to how much you pull on that banner.

When it comes to artifacts, focus on one set only and buy those to speed up the progression of that specific set.

Purple gear can help early on, but if you are not in a rush or you are a competitive player, save for SSR gear instead.

5-Star SSR Slime it’s always great to save on pulls and dupes.

There are a few ones I recommend buying 100%:

Agility Aura, can be used on any team composition
Drain Aura, can be used on any team composition
Hit Aura is good long term as last spell for endgame

After that, it really depends on what team composition you are running.

Summoning Ticket Summoning Ticket Description Tickets used for the Luminary Summon gacha (standard banner). on the weekly reset for extra pulls.

Depending on your needs, either Luminary EXP Luminary EXP Description Essence crystallized from traces of Luminaries. Used to level up characters. or Wyrm Essence Wyrm Essence Description The essence crystallized from an ancient Wyrm. Used as advanced material for character breakthroughs. packs are great.

What about spending money?

This is one of those games where if you do not spend consistently (and a lot of money) you can’t compete with whales, so in my opinion:

Monthly and lifetime cards are the only thing you need
Utility card (monthly, not weekly) are pretty good
For new players, the Raid Passes are great “value” but there are a lot of them, so you can buy them slowly as you need resources
Each event has a mission pass that also provides pulls and extra resources, I like those

Outside of those, I can’t recommend anything else because it gets expensive really quickly.

Play on PC with Bluestacks

Easier Rerolling: Getting your waifus (or husbandos) is much simpler with the emulator’s multi-instancing capabilities
